🎲 Nevada Computer Draw — Point Creep Analysis

Nevada uses a computer draw where bonus points improve your odds but don't guarantee a tag. Every applicant starts with a base draw chance — points give you additional entries. This is different from CO/UT/WY preference point systems.

Ruby Mountains Elk
~10–15 years average wait. Fewer than 50 tags/year total. Apply every year starting now.
Desert Bighorn
~1–3% odds per unit/year. Best state for bighorn volume. Apply every year — lifetime applicants draw eventually.
Mule Deer
2–8 years for premium units. Some moderate units draw in 3–5 years. Apply by Jan 31.
💡 Apply for Nevada every year even if you have premium tags in other states. NV applications don't interfere with UT/CO/WY draws — points accumulate independently.

🧬 CWD Zones

Nevada CWD risk is lower than neighboring states due to lower deer density in Great Basin terrain, but monitoring is ongoing. Voluntary sampling at NDOW check stations encouraged for deer and elk harvested in eastern Nevada.

Affected species: Mule Deer, Elk
Elko County (northeast NV) CWD detected in deer near WY/UT border zones — voluntary sampling recommended
Statewide surveillance Nevada active CWD monitoring program — no mandatory zones currently
